Altenew 5th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

  

Hello everybody! Welcome to my blog!
Today we are celebrating Altenew's 5th anniversary. Yo-hoo! 

Here's my layout I created for this special occasion featuring the beautiful Hibiscus Garden die set from Altenew...

I started my layout by creating a bunch of gorgeous hibiscus flowers and leaves. First, I die cut all the tiny parts of the flowers, then I grabbed my watercolor set and painted the parts with different color shades. I just love how they add dimension to the flowers!

Next, I chose a patterned paper from the Live Your Dream collection as my background and added coat using white gesso. Then, I wanted to add more dimension, so I die cut a stencil using a smaller twig die from the die set. I painted white twigs and leaves to the background using white modeling paste. 

When the paints dried, I created a cluster under my photo using hibiscus flowers, die cut leaves, ephemera pieces, and wood buttons. I wrote my comment to a journaling tag and dropped black paint around to finish.
