Birthday Cards | Crate Paper DT

Hello everyone! I am so excited to share with you my very first project as a Crate Paper design team member. Getting to work with these beautiful collections alongside amazingly talented designers is truly an honor for me.
Birthday is one of my favorite events to create cards! There is nothing like a handmade card to send someone you care, don’t you think? I know that I always appreciate the time and effort when a friend gives me a card that they have made themselves.
This time I decided to use the brand new and incredibly stunning Maggie Holmes Flourish collection. The beautiful flowers and gold embellishments make so easy to create romantic birthday cards! I couldn’t be more excited about that!
My idea was to incorporate a tag into my cards and surprise my friends with a tiny handmade gift. To do this, I used different patterned papers from the 6x8 Card Making Pad and created a pocket to the front of the cards.

For my first card, I used a beautiful gold foiled pink sheet from the 6x8 paper pad to cover the white card base and created the pocket from a floral sheet with green background. I then machine stitched around the card and embellished the pocket with a floral cardstock sticker. I also added the pretty decorative trim for extra detail. When finished, I chose a tag from the ephemera pack that fits perfectly my color scheme and layered some patterned paper behind. I’m so in love with the pretty puffy gold stickers from this collection and chose an oval frame to decorate my tag. I arranged my birthday wishes in the center using gold alphabet stickers, and also adhered a cute bird from the sticker sheet. Lastly, I added a tiny tassel and ribbon to the top.

To create my second card, I covered the top with natural floral patterned paper and created the diagonal pocket using light gold foiled paper. For embellishing, I can’t resist adding the cute deer from the cardstock stickers with some sticker phrases. This time I incorporated an ephemera tag with beautiful die-cut rose, layered sticker butterfly, and washi tape to create my tag.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope that you have been inspired to create some birthday cards to send to your loved ones!
